ICT as a communicative tool

Communication technologies have become essential tools of every profession. Students are able to connect, access and communicate with wider world in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago and are continually changing.

ICT as a communicative tool enables communcation between learners and teachers despite the physical barriers. Example: email and onchats.

There are two types of communication.
1. Synchronous
Enables real time communication, used for instructional activities which helps solving urgent problems. The user in this communication must be active in same time.(simultaneously connected)
Example:
Telephone calls
Chats
Video conferencing
2. Asychronous
It is used for activities that require more time in thinking and responding. The users need not be communicating to be logged in the internet at the same time. Example:
E-mail
